I have an old m-audio USB Quattro interface (4in/out) which I used with Cubase years ago. I have it hooked up to my wife's intel iMac with more than enough RAM. Logic seems to run fine, but I get a very weak signal through the interface. Apparently I have the correct driver. I don't mind buying a new interface if this one is not going to work, but the hard part may be in determining whether or not it will work. M-Audio doesn't seem to know (I'm less than thrilled with their support). Any experience or thoughts on this?

Thanks-that's the same driver I'm using now. The M-audio techs were unable to tell me if Quattro would work with LE8, so I've been wasting my time and money trying to make it work. They also gave me conflicting opinions as to whether or not 'tip' polarity was an issue when using an after-market adapter.

One said definitely yes, one or two others said definitely no. Their phone tech line has a 20 to 40 minute wait when I call. The online support system is confusing, which even they admit. I don't think my next interface will be from M-audio. Thanks very much for the response, it helps me get beyond this phase. Is the Quattro of any use for anybody else (i.e., can I sell it or give it away)? Apple Footer.

Hello, I finaly got my M-AUDIO QUATTRO USB, but im in trouble again. I dont think i got help now from my friend in Australia I installeted everthing just subscribed in the booklet, and in the beginning i had some sound.

I sounded worse!! So i looked in traktor setup audio settings and saw that the quattro was listed several times. Whell to make a long storie short.

My card is not working, no sound any more and it seems that i dont have the propper ASIO drivers and de XPpostinstaller is not running. I include my mail to M-AUDIO underneath this message but if someone had the same problems and a solution, your very welcome. Letter M-AUDIO SUPORT (from me to them) Systeem OS: WINXP Processor: P4 2.8 Memory: 512 MB DDR-ram Harddisk: Western Dig 60 G Saturday August the 21, I bought the M-Audio Quattro USB.

I’m planning to use it on Traktor DJ manufactured by Native Instruments. Following the installation manual, I first let XP search for drivers, that went ok. Later when XP prompted for driver search I included the driver CD in the search. Also that went OK. But still I don’t have any sound. The problem is, that when I try to run the Xppostinstaller, it doesn’t react. So I think I don’t have any ASIO drivers installated on my system.

I can find M-AUDIO USB Quattro WDM and VXD, because when I remove the Quattro safely I see those two. If I start up Traktor DJ and go to the setup AUDIO options, I can choose the following options Windows MME wavemapper MME M-AUDIO Quattro MME Soundmax digital AUDIO Direct X soundinterface M-AUDIO quattro DX Also no ASIO This is what the M-Audio toolbar shows: 4 in, 4 out, 16 bit, 48/44.1/22.05/11.025khz Latency medium Firmware 1.05 Driver 5. Panel 2.0.0.2 This is what the M-Audio USB Configuration manager shows: Mode: ASIO/EASI And when I open the M-AUDIO USB ASIO/EASI controlpanel the setings are: Interface: ASIO Device DUO (I cant chance these settings to Quatro) M-AUDIO Control panel Versions FIRMWARE 7.4 ec USB DRIVER – (none listed??) ASIODRIVER - (none listed??) Bithwide 16 bit Latency low I already visited the M-AUDIO website for drivers. And copied the instructions for Quattro instalation. I dindn’t find the driver 1.28 cr 5. So instead of that I downloaded the Quattro 2002 USB WEB and installed it. Still I do not have ASIO drivers.

Support please Tnx Duncan. OK Duncan this is starting to sound similar to a problem I have had - those (2) and (3) drivers are a sign that the install is messed up. This is an issue that M-Audio recognized.

With one of the previous versions of the Quattro Drivers they also included the Install Utility - unfortunately I no longer have this due to a HD crash. The install utility removes drivers and reg keys that can be left over from a bad install. Here's my work around. You will need to search the net for a free utility called RegClean - it's easy to find. 1) Use Windows Control Panel to de-install the Quattro.

2) Use RegClean to remove any Quattro related Reg Keys that are left over from the de-install. (Sometimes the de-install gets them all, sometimes it doesn't). 3) Re-install the Quattro.

Make sure you follow the installation instructions to the letter. (The process is not as intuitive as you expect). After the initial install of the Audio Drivers the system will reboot, XP will recognize the Quattro and will then install various midi drivers - let it do this - there may be around 4 prompts for this.

After this XP will tell you that your new USB device is installed and ready to use. At this point Traktor should see the ASIO drivers in the Audio prefs panel. Select them and configure the outputs as required. Bear in mind that the Quattro can be very temperamental. Sometimes for no apparent reason when you boot up XP will recognize it as a new device and attempt to re-install. If this happens follow the procedure above.

(Those (2) and (3) 's are a sign that the Quattro has tried to re-install over the top of itself). Hope this makes sense and helps. Tnx Seany sean, Ive did what you said.

I removed the Quatro completly and removed the leftovers with Regclean. Ive instald en de-installed several time, cause I must do something wrong. I downloaded the driver previous to the one i did before.

M Audio Quattro Driver For Mac

That would be theQuattro13003web.exe The lastime i did that in this order. Checked that the Quattro was disconected. Than run the program from a disk. Then i got the message i have to restart my PC. So.i do that.and then i got the message to power on the Quattro. Ill did so, but that means my pc is already shutting off, en will start up with the Quattro powered on.

Well, than XP is going to search for drivers. And guess what, ive got ASIO 1/2 and 1/3. Only Traktor doenst reconice them.

If i start up Traktor, I got the message 'trouble finding sounddevice, coulb already in use. So i go to the soundsettings. No Quatro options availeble.only Windows MMW mapper. That'sSeanySean is right about using the 2.0 drivers - the problem you're having isn't the drivers, it's more likely the install process.

The driver updates have only improved the Quattro's stability across the board, and there's no reason to use older drivers. If you aren't getting ASIO, the problem certainly isn't the most recent driver! Do any other music/audio related apps on your computer recognize the Quattro ASIO? Because if only Traktor doesn't see it, then the problem lies with Traktor.
